Lorenzillos
The perfect place for romance. The restaurant is build onto a wood pier in the lagoon and the atmosphere can not be more cozy and Caribbean. They have service indoor and outdoor, so you can have your dinner just next to the water, feeling the warm breeze of Cancun and enjoying the moonlight over the lagoon. They are experts in lobster and seafood, so the best advise is to ask for lobster or shrimps. It is an expensive place, but in our opinion, is one of the "must visit it" restaurants.
La Dolce Vita
When we go to this restaurant we always ask for the "Boquinete Dolce Vita". It is a snapper filet stuffed with shrimps, covered with a puff pastry and accompanied with a delicious lobster sauce. We go to this restaurant for this dish only, and we can tell you that it is truly awesome! Somtimes they have baby crabs too, which are delicious as well. The restaurant is fancy and they have an outdoor terrace next to the lagoon. Usually there is a musician playing the violin or some other romantic instrument.
Hacienda Sisal
We have tried this restaurant for Sunday brunches and it is one of our favorites due to the variety of food and beverages, price and specially the hours (they serve the brunch until 2 pm, which is perfect for people who wants to sleep a little bit more on Sunday). The food is excellent, as well as the service, and they have complimentary activities for kids, like drawing balloons and a clown. Something good to know is that you will have the chance to try typical Mexican and Mayan Food, like tacos, pozole, tamales, cochinita pibil, etc. Try the Motuleños Eggs.
Cambalache
A really nice and fancy place, not too big but cozy, with tasty steaks and delicious Argentinian food. For us, this is one of the best places to try Argentinian steaks, and it has the extra advantage of its location, as it is at the Forum Shopping Center, perfect location to go dancing after dinner.
Puerto Madero
One of the finest restaurants in Cancun. Excellent for steak and seafood. Shrimps "al ajillo" are delicious (but a little spicy) and their aged prime steaks are something that are worth to try. Is one of the most expensive restaurants in our list, but is perfect for any special occasion.
Mocambo
We like this restaurant for lunch, as it is next to the beach and is nice to feel the breeze and to look at the ocean while you are enjoying a good seafood in an open big terrace. Prices are affordable and food quality is good, so you will have a nice experience in this restaurant.
Hong Kong
This restaurant is owned by a Chinese family who established in Cancun many years ago. They started in a small place, but the quality of their food and service soon allowed them to open a bigger place. Now is one of the favorite places of Cancun families for lunch and for breakfast. All their food is tasty and cooked in the traditional oriental way. The place is big and comfortable and prices are not high at all.
